How to unmount the drive in windows PC

This article teaches you about how to unmount the drive attached to your windows PC. Unmounting a drive simply means ejecting a drive from your PC. You cannot unmount the main hard drive of your PC that is you cannot unmount the drive on which the operating system is installed.

The following steps teaches you how to safely unmount your drive from Windows PC.

Step 1

Click on My computer/ Computer/ This PC in your computer, this will open up a window in your Windows PC that shows all the drives attached to your PC.

Step 2

Right click with your mouse on the drive you want to unmount.

Step 3

Now click on eject

Step 4

Now you are safe to remove your drive(not the main hard drive) from your Windows PC.
